Coming Soon...Forget Me Not Scrapbooks Location #2
As 2009 approaches, plans are underway here at Forget Me Not Scrapbooks to expand into Indian River County with a monthly Crop and Shop!
Get out your calendars and make sure to set Saturday, January 10, 2009 aside for the very first Crop and Shop in Vero Beach! Barb Crespo and I have been collaborating for some time now, to bring the Scrappy Girls of Vero their very own Crop and Shop at the Bethel Creek House on A1A.
Barb and I are making great plans for these scrapbooking events, and I can say with complete confidence, attendees of the Bethel Creek House Crop and Shop will find the same warm, welcoming, friendly, scrapbooking event as well as the same fantastic shopping, great prizes, fun contests, gifts with registration, and inspiration galore - just like our Port St. Lucie events, which are nearly two years in the running now!

Change Is In the Air!
I love change! With change, things stay fresh and new!
Forget Me Not Scrapbooks has come a long way since our first Crop and Shop in February of 2007. We started out with just a handful of croppers, some very faithful friends indeed! We met month after month, growing a little bit each time. Soon, we added our wonderful vendors, Tonya, with Creative Memories and Michele with Stampin' Up. In no time at all, we proudly celebrated our 1 year anniversary in February 2008. Before long, our Crop and Shop was selling out each month and we were regretfully turning scrappers away. Along came National Scrapbook Day on May 3rd, 2008 and as part of the celebration, we extended our Crop and Shop hours. It was then that we knew...no mistake about it; we needed a bigger space and a longer cropping day!

Do you remember when scrapbooking made it's big splash in the mid 90's? At the time, I didn't think I would ever get the hang of cutting my kids adorable baby photos into shapes like baby bottles, pacifiers and teddy bears. I can remember thinking to myself; "Who in their right mind would ruin these precious photos?" Thank goodness the art of scrapbooking has evolved the way it has over the years because I wouldn't have lasted much longer with the guilt those plastic templates brought me!

Try printing you black and white photo on textured cardstock (like Bazzill) to resemble art canvas! The effect is really cool and adds a beautiful touch to your black and white photo.

JULY DEMONSTRATION
We'll be covering some cool ideas for hidden journaling and a few ways I've come up with to use lots of photos in a layout.
I've been working on a curriculum for a Beginner's Scrapbook Class I'd like to teach at the September Crop. I'm discovering there are so many people wanting to try scrapbooking - they just seem bewildered and overwhelmed at the prospect! I'm calling this beginner class "Tell Your Story" because I believe scrapbooking is so much more than displaying the events of our lives with pretty paper and cute stickers. There is a story behind each photo, just waiting to be told and I honestly believe that one day, when each of us no longer graces this earth, our future generations will want to know the story of who we were. They will want to know what was important to us and how we FELT about the people and events in our lives.
I'm also working on finding some very talented instructors to offer classes for the intermediate to advanced scrapbooker in addition to MORE shopping opportunities to compliment the products offered by Forget Me Not Scrapbooks. With interesting classes and additional vendors selling GREAT products, you won't want to miss a single monthly Crop!
Come to our July 21st Crop and Shop and meet other scrapbookers like yourself! You'll make some new friends, find inspiration and you'll have a great time! I hope to see you on the 21st!

CK CONVENTION
As you can see by the picture on the right, I had my very own "photo op" with Lisa Bearnson!
I had a BLAST at the CK Convention in Fort Lauderdale. Classes, Shopping & Cropping - scrapbookers heaven! My favorite part of the entire weekend was the Backstage Party with Lisa Bearnson (founding editor of Creating Keepsakes Magazine) and at least a hundred other scrapbookers. Lisa was telling us about some of her favorite things and giving out cool prizes to the lucky scrappers who could guess her favorites correctly. When Lisa asked "Can anyone guess what my favorite way to deal with stress is?" My hand shot up so fast, I wasn't even thinking about what I was doing, and when Lisa pointed to me, I blurted out "Take a nap!" Everyone started laughing at what seemed like a silly answer and then the next thing we knew, there was a larger than life photo of Lisa on the overhead screen taking a nap! I got it right! And I got the COOLEST package of Lisa's favorite scrapbook supplies! Awesome!

Hello scrappers!
Greetings to each of you!
Welcome and thanks to all the new members that have joined our newsletter list! I hope this edition finds you all happy, healthy & enjoying summertime!

So far this month, I have been to more Crops than any other month in the 10 years I've been scrapbooking! I have gotten SO MUCH ACCOMPLISHED!
Our Forget Me Not Scrapbooks Crop and Shop kicked off the month of crops for me which was so awesome since I had the pleasure of catching up with a few of the girls I haven't scrapbooked with in several months. Loved that! (You retired girls travel way too much!)
I had a fabulous time with my new Vero Beach scrapbooking friends! This is the second time I've scrapbooked with these girls and I tell you, the talent in Vero is awe inspiring! (Ask me about the 2 page Mosaic layout that Irene did!) Barb, Janice & Carmen, you three put on a wonderful crop! I can't wait for the next one!
This past weekend I attended a lovely crop put on by some new scrapbooking friends of mine: Julianne, Tonya & Tina. These girls are amazing! Each of these gals has their own home-based scrapbook business and each offered products for sale during the crop. Great prizes, delicious food and loads of fun!
You'd think I'd be scrapbooked out by now! But I've still got some scrapbooking left in me! I'm heading down to Ft. Lauderdale for the Creating Keepsakes Convention this Thursday to fulfill my secret desire to meet Lisa Bearnson! (Not so secret anymore!)
Let me know if you are heading down there too, maybe we'll be in a class together! At the very least, we can share a crop table!

PALM BEACH POST SCRAPBOOK CONTEST
I recently read with great interest, the Palm Beach Post is sponsoring The Post's Making Classic Florida Memories scrapbook contest! The page submissions must include decals that you download for free at www.PalmBeachPost.com/Food. According to the article, the winner will receive a $200 gift certificate to Everything Scrapbook and Stamp in Lake Worth. The article also states that questions should be directed to Amy Royster at 561-820-4464. Good luck if you decide to enter!

Forget Me Not Scrapbooks Newsletter # 6
Hello Scrappin' friends,
A BIG THANKS to all of you that made it to the crop this past Saturday at the PSL Community Center. As usual, I had a blast!
Congratulations to Lenore for winning the Best Page Layout contest! Way to go Lenore!
As most of you know, I am working on a new place to meet and crop. The PSL Community Center is great for so many reasons. It's size, lighting, cleanliness and security all make it the perfect place to meet and if it weren't for the sometimes LOUD group on the other side of the wall, it would be the PERFECT place to meet!
So, all currently posted events at the PSL Community Center have been withdrawn from the Crop Dates page - new dates and times will be posted as soon as I have them!
I have high hopes that we will be back to meeting at the PSL Community Center before long. As our group grows, I look forward to adding more space to our rental commitment and extending the length of time we meet as well as providing appealing classes for new and seasoned scrapbookers!
Let me know if you have any ideas for a new place to meet!

Last weekend I had the pleasure of attending a Saturday crop that SOMEONE ELSE planned & hosted! I met some of the nicest people ever! The crop hostesses, Barb and Janice hold monthly crops at the Salvation Army Church in Vero Beach. For more information on their next gathering, call Barb at 772-692-1024.

I hope this Newsflash finds you all happy and well!
This past weekend I attended the St. Patrick's Day Festival at Lyngate Park in Port St. Lucie. I was there promoting Forget Me Not Scrapbooks next Crop and Shop on Saturday, March 31st. The Crop is from 5:30 to 10:30 pm at the Port St. Lucie Community Center. If you haven't registered yet, I would love for you to join our growing group of local scrapbookers! We'll be sharing informal insights on product organization, design elements & page layouts. I promise you'll have a lot of fun and you'll get to meet some new scrapbook buddies! Just go to our website and register!
We've begun a Frequent Cropper Program! Attend 5 Crop and Shops and your 6th Crop is FREE! Don't worry, you won't have to remember to bring a card to be stamped or punched, we'll keep track of attendance and notify you when you're eligible for your FREE Crop. At any time you can check your FREE Crop status by emailing me, and of course, last months Crop counts towards the new Frequent Cropper Program!
Get ready and get CREATIVE! Starting at the next Crop we'll have a page contest and the theme will be your "Most Creative" page layout! The best part is the contest judges will be all of YOU! We'll have a secret ballot and a great prize for the winner! BIG FUN!
Look for some new paper designs from the line CRATE PAPER in the Scrapbook Shop. Of course, like last month, our Forget Me Not girlie, Mallory, will be there with her huge smile to help you with any purchases you may want to make! She's awesome!
What to bring to the crop? I tell scrapbookers to plan out 4 to 5 layouts. Putting all the items for each page layout in a separate page protector is a great way to stay organized. Before a crop, I usually draw a sketch of each layout I want to complete. I tend to be more creative if I start out with a guideline. The funny thing is, my pages never turn out looking exactly like the sketch I've drawn!
And do bring a SWEATER! The temperature is set at "comfortably cool" so you'll want a sweater in case one of your pages has you so preoccupied that you don't move around for awhile!

Greetings scrapbooking friends,
I can't believe in entire week has gone by since our February 28th Crop! Where does the time go anyway?
The scrapbook pages I completed at the Crop are sitting on my desk and each time I pass by them, I am filled with such a desire to stop everything and create more! The laundry, dinner, dishes and all the other chores are distractions from what I really want to do! SCRAPBOOK!
Wow! What an inspiration that first Crop was! I just want to keep scrapbooking into the wee hours of the night! Then reality sets in or the looming alarm clock set for 6:00 am reminds me how much I love sleep!
For the March 31st Crop, I've ordered a variety of new papers from CRATE PAPER. I love them! They're beautiful! Wait till you see them! We are even giving some out for FREE as the gift with registration!

The First of Many Scrapbook Crops
Forget Me Not Scrapbooks very first Crop and Shop was February 28th and and it turned out to be a total blast!
Even though most said Wednesday was a tough night to make it to a Crop, we had a GREAT turn-out of dedicated scrapbookers!
Watching the scrapbook pages come together and seeing the various scrapbooking styles was totally inspiring!
There was an amazing amount of sharing going on too! From ideas and tips to tools and stories, the Crop was buzzing with excitement as scrapbookers got to know each other!
Fancy Pants was the featured gift with registration and there were great door prize give-aways from a Xyron sticker maker to a self-inking alphabet stamp set!
One of the goals of Forget Me Not Scrapbooks is to make a difference in the way people remember, celebrate and connect with each other. We hope to provide scrapbookers with the resources, motivation and certainly the encouragement to create those scrapbook pages!
We'll see you at the next Crop, March 31st!
